Niels Brock Launches Education Offensive In China

Danish educational programmes are a hot commodity in China right now, and Copenhagen-based Niels Brock business college has every intention of making the most of the favourable situation. That’s why Niels Brock president Anya Eskildsen is currently touring China with a portfolio full of Danish college courses ready to be sold to the highest bidder.   “We Danes are especially good at business education. And we have to seize the moment right now, if we want to be a leading contender in the field of education export”, Ms. Eskildsen told the Ritzau news agency on Wednesday. “If we do this right, it could be Denmark’s next windmill fairy tale.”   Niels Brock is already running so-called ‘joint college education programmes’ with both the Shanghai Finance University and the North-East China Normal University in Changchun. 251Chinese have already obtained a joint Niels Brock/Shanghai Finance U. diploma in International Finance or International Technology, and 633 students are currently enrolled in either one of the two afore-mentioned courses or in the latest discipline of International Marketing. And to top off this Sino-Danish educational success Niels Brock also welcomes about 150 Chinese students a year to its facilities in Copenhagen.   But Niels Brock is nothing if not ambitious: Anya Eskildsen has visited both Chongqing and Wenzhou during her tour de force of the Middle Kingdom and collaboration talks for the creation of DK-style financial courses are being drafted with local universities in both cities.
